Golf Clubs For Sale: Putters

A Guide to Putters

Golf Clubs For Sale

When you've finally made it to the green, the putter is the club to pull out of the bag. There are many types of putters, but they generally fall into these three categories: short, belly and long.

Short putters are the conventional putter - the type you are most likely to see on the green - and they are the most difficult to master. Most high-caliber players prefer short putters because they provide the most feel.

The belly putter allows the player to anchor the club to his abdomen, giving greater control of the wrists, but with the sacrifice of some degree of feel.

The long putter totally eliminates the challenging element of wrist control, but at a greater loss of feel.

Prices

While cheap putters abound, top of the line putters carry a premium price tag. Nike's BC 203 Heel-Toe putter is a high quality putter at a moderate price - it can be found for less than $100. Callaway's I-Trax putter goes for about $250, while MacGregor's Fat Lady can be found for about $180.
